Botanical name. Athertonia diversifolia
Description. The Atherton Oak is an attractive fruit tree native to northern Queensland. Will grow well in sub-tropical areas, but requires protection from frost when young. Fruits in spring, with blue fruit containing a woody-shelled nut, with crunchy edible kernel. Grows to a large sreading evergreen tree. Grows to 1.5m long.
